DAVID
A. VARNAU, LPO, CPO:
David Varnau has 25 years of clinical experience in the field of
prosthetics-orthotics. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from
Loyola University of Chicago and a post baccalaureate certificate in prosthetics
and orthotics from UCLA. His experience includes serving as Department Head in
the Prosthetics-Orthotics Department at UCLA Hospital, Acting Director of the
UCLA Prosthetic-Orthotic Education Program and work in 4 clinical settings.
During his 7 years on staff at UCLA Hospital, David served as guest
lecturer in the Prosthetic-Orthotic Education Program. David is certified in
both prosthetics and orthotics by the American Board for Certification and is
a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He has published
2 articles in Orthotics and Prosthetics, the first one entitled "The Polypropylene
Single Hip Spica Orthosis" and the second was entitled "The Enhancement
of Prosthetics with Xeroradiography" which was awarded second place for
Article of the Year in 1985.
David holds a clinical faculty appointment at the University of
Washington, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has lectured
extensively at the University of Washington Division of Prosthetics and Orthotics,
and at national and regional AAOP meetings and seminars. He also continues to
provide in-service training lectures to staff of major medical centers in the
Puget Sound.
WAYNE
K. DALY, LPO, CPO:
Wayne has 25 years of experience in the field of prosthetics-orthotics,
is American Board Certified in both fields and is recognized as the premiere
upper-limb prosthetist in the Pacific Northwest. He holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics. Wayne has lectured
extensively and was lecturer at the University of Washington Division
of Prosthetics and Orthotics for 7 years.
He held the position of chief research prosthetist at the Prosthetic
Research Study in Seattle and has served as a consulting prosthetist in the development
of computer aided design of Shapemaker software for Model and Instrument Works,
Seattle. He has published an article, together with Dr. Ernest Burgess, in Physical
Therapy, "The Effects of Isometric Muscle Training on Residual Limb Volume,
Strength, and Gait of BK Amputees".
He served on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Prosthetics
and Orthotics from 1987 to 1990. Wayne was president of the Northwest Chapter
of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) for 1996-1997.
Since 1992 to the present, he has had a clinical appointment to the faculty of
the University of Washington Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Wayne has lectured extensively at the University of Washington Division
of Prosthetics and Orthotics and at national and regional AAOP meetings and seminars.
He also continues to provide in-service training lectures to major medical centers
in the Puget Sound Region. In February 1998, he was invited as a guest lecturer
for upper limb prosthetics to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University prosthetics-orthotics
program.

DOUG L. PINKLEY, LPO, CPO:
Doug holds two bachelor degrees from the University of Washington. The first degree held is in psychology while the second is in prosthetics and orthotics.
Prior to entering the field, Doug formed a construction business on the eastside to help finance his education. In addition, Doug is also active in the volunteer sector, most notably with the organization, Baltic Blessings. His involvement centers on obtaining medical equipment and medical samples to be used in Baltic countries of need.
Doug was raised in the Puget Sound area and has obtained his prosthetic and orthotic experience in local facilities from the Olympic peninsula to North Seattle over the last four years.

JOSE E. IGNACIO, LPO, CPO:
Jose holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology as well as a Minor in Psychology from Indiana University. Prior to entering the field of prosthetics and orthotics four years ago, he worked as an inpatient and residential counselor for at-risk adolescents at Bloomington Hospital in Indiana and The Barry Robinson Center in Norfolk, Virginia. He was first introduced to the field by working as a prosthetic and orthotic technician at American Orthotic and Prosthetic Center in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Since that time, Jose continued his education to graduate from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Since graduation, he has managed a Puget Sound area prosthetic and orthotic facility, where he performed numerous in-service presentations for physicians, therapists, and nurses. He has held guest lecturer appointments at the University of Puget Sound’s Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program teaching orthotics and prosthetics. In addition, he has held numerous speaking engagements at local wound care conferences regarding orthotic intervention.

RHEA KULIKOVA, LPO, CPO:
Rhea Kulikova has 2 years of clinical experience in the field of Prosthetics
Orthotics. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from University of Washington in Seattle.
A native of Minnesota, Rhea graduated from the University of Washington Prosthetics Orthotics program in 2004. After spending a year abroad in Europe, she returned to the area where she did her orthotic residency training at a local trauma hospital and taking care pf the prosthetic needs of veteran’s at the VA Hospital. Intrigued by the fusion pf art and technology that the field of prosthetics and Orthotics offered, Rhea strives to improve mobility, increase physical comfort and enhance functionality for all her patients. She has high expectations, determined effort and skilled execution that will accept nothing less than perfection. In her free time, Rhea enjoys traveling, cooking and salsa dancing.

CHELSEY PULLMAN, LPO, CPO:
Chelsey Pullman has almost 2 years of clinical experience in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Her experience includes completion of her orthotic residency at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center through the Newington Residency Program. It is through this program that she received the Resident of the Year award. Chelsey is a practitioner in our Bellevue location. Chelsey is certified in Orthotics by the American Board for Certification and is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. Chelsey’s residency research paper entitled “A Comparison of Four Prophylactic Knee Braces Under Lateral Impact Loading of the Knee” was presented at the New England Orthotics and Prosthetics Chapter Meeting in 2007.
